Virtual Classes Keep Dancers Moving

READING, BERKS COUNTY (WLVT-TV) – A dance studio in Berks County is keeping its dancers on their toes through the stay-at-home orders with virtual classes. Berks Ballet Theatre Conservatory of Dance is offering its students online dance classes. The dance school, located in GoggleWorks in downtown Reading, has more than 135 students enrolled and typically offers around 35 classes per week.

Owner Nathan Bland says he and his teachers spent a full day of recording to keep students moving. “I made the quick decision to bring in some of my staff and we were able to film over 10 hours, from our little kid classes, from tears all the way up to our pre professional highest level of dancers, and we created a virtual studio. All those videos have been edited to make a concise class and put on our new platform on our website where they have access to these classes,” says Bland.

Now, teachers are continuing to teach dance via online classes recorded in their homes.
