A Modified ‘Nutcracker’ fit for the Virtual Season
The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition, not just in Berks County, but around the world. We knew early on in the season that we would be unable to perform our production in person at the Scottish Rite Cathedral with the Reading Pops Orchestra per tradition. With that in mind, we knew we couldn’t just let this year pass by without a performance. Berks Ballet Theatre’s Artistic Director Kelly Barber and Ballet Master/Resident Choreographer Nathan Bland choreographed The Nutcracker Suite. A condensed version of BBT’s The Nutcracker with narration that will take you on a virtual journey from Clara’s solo after she receives the coveted nutcracker doll from Drosselmeyer through to the Waltz of the Snowflakes. From there we head to the magical Land of the Sweets where you will be delighted by all of the divertissements through a dancing feast for the eyes.
The production will feature Berks Ballet Theatre’s company dancers cast in the lead and corps de ballet roles along with Conservatory students in the roles of the Angels and Ballet Master/Resident Choreographer Nathan Bland as Drosselmeyer.
We are excited for you to join us on this magical journey from the comfort of your home! For tickets click here.
