Delaware Dance Festival

This was the 7th year that Berks Ballet Theatre attended the Delaware Dance Festival. Over time, we have seen the festival grow in size and shape, beginning in Dover to the Grand Opera House in Wilmington. This was the 25th anniversary for DDF and it was a spectacular event all around. More classes, more dancers and more scholarships! The festival now spans three days with over seven classes ranging from partnering to hip hop, along with a scholarship class that encompasses ballet, jazz and musical theatre.

Beyond the master class aspect of the festival there is a performance to cap off the weekend. BBT performed Resident Choreographer, Nathan Bland’s “Valse Tiersen,” a neo-classical ballet featuring seven dancers set to the music of french composer, Yann Tiersen.

We are proud to have four scholarship winners this year, totaling $1,200. Learn more about the big winners in this feature article by The Reading Eagle.

There are many reasons to dance at Berks Ballet Theatre Conservatory of Dance, including being a part of the performing company, Berks Ballet Theatre and all the opportunities it affords. “Summer of Dance” (our summer camps and intensives for dancers of all ages and abilities) is a great time to join us!
