Breathing Space: BBT’s Virtual Spring Performance

Berks Ballet Theatre is excited to present its spring performance in a whole new way. Breathing Space will take audiences on a journey of contemporary and neoclassical works while displaying the versatility and strength of our dancers. We took the dancers out of the theater and into a beautiful, industrial space at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. Working with Jado Media of Pittsburgh, we are excited to present this unique dance experience.

A mixed-rep show, the Company revises the late choreographer, Jonathan Phelps’s piece, Blue Songs, set to songs by Aretha Franklin.

Two new pieces entitled Timelapse and Walk, were choreographed by Company members Emily Brossman and Gretchen Kimmel. Junior Company dancers were challenged in these pieces, dancing alongside soloists, creating a true opportunity for cohesion.

Resident Choreographer, Nathan Bland has choreographed a new piece entitled, Bolero, to the famous sounds of French composer, Maurice Ravel. Bolero showcases the dancers’ strong ballet training, yet in a contemporary way.

Breathing Space streams  May 22 through June 5. Click for tickets and more info.
