Berks Ballet Theatre Offers Sweet ‘Nutcracker’ Preview

Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party offers a taste of the ballet and some sweet treats.

Berks Ballet Theatre helped get local children ready for the return of “The Nutcracker” with a Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party on Sunday.

The event was held in two 90-minute sessions in the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. Children who attended received a box lunch and treats from Ady Cakes and Sweet Ride Ice Cream of West Reading.

Participants had a chance to meet and greet the cast of “The Nutcracker,” see a preview of the ballet and enjoy story time with the Sugar Plum Fairy, portrayed by the ballet company’s Ellie Folga.

Berks Ballet Theatre will perform “The Nutcracker” Dec. 18 and 19 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in West Reading, with accompaniment by the Reading Pops Orchestra.
