Conservatory

Dance. Balance. Joy

berks-ballet-theatre-conservatory-aboutBerks Ballet Theatre Conservatory of Dance is committed to offering the highest quality training to its students. Our goal is to elevate each student to their highest potential, inside and outside the dance studio. We provide a disciplined, yet fun learning environment for your child and the lessons learned can be applied to any area of their life.

We offer an array of classes for all ages, starting with Two-Tus and progressing into Creative Movement through the Pre Professional division. Each level has an age-appropriate syllabus designed to encompass all of their needs, physically and mentally. Once a student moves into Ballet 1, we begin to build their classical ballet foundation that will guide them through the ascending levels. Included in that foundation are other forms of dance including Jazz, Tap, and Modern, depending on their level. The goal of the Conservatory is to offer a level of training that makes it possible for those who want to pursue a professional career in dance to do so.

We are located within the state of the art GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. We have 3 gorgeous studios with lots of natural light and observation windows, along with a large dressing room and a comfortable waiting area.

Berks Ballet Theatre Conservatory of Dance has a long history of providing the best of everything to its students. We aim to continue that tradition and raise the BARRE to new heights.

Once students reach an intermediate level or higher, they are eligible to audition for Berks Ballet Theatre’s Pre-Professional Company. BBT provides many performing opportunities throughout the year, including the annual production of The Nutcracker. Refer to the Company page for further information.

What People Say About Us

  • Seeing my daughter dancing and hardly recognizing her because of the poise and beauty and confidence she displayed on stage was just unreal. I kept having to remind myself that this was my daughter and her friends that were dancing and not some professional dance company visiting from New York City or Chicago.

  • For a child with Down Syndrome, dance can be such a wonderful and therapeutic activity and Berks Ballet opened their arms without hesitation. Little did I know that 14 years later, both of our children would still be dancing and have been able to perform together in the Nutcracker. It has been such a joy to watch both of them evolve over the years.

    Nancy Henry

  • Our daughters' training in classical and modern ballet has been absolutely excellent and has led to their deep love of the art form. Expectations are high, producing quality ballets like "The Nutcracker" and creating very tight bonds between the dancers. The dedication cultivated at BBT also spills over into academics and the development of a strong work ethic.
