Master Classes with Blake Krapels of BalletX

We are excited to host two master classes with Blake Krapels of BalletX today! Blake has been a member of BalletX since the Fall of 2018 and just returned from Serbia where the company was on tour. We first met Blake when he guested with BBT for The Nutcracker and we are happy to have him in the studios working with our dancers. To learn more about the path that led him to BalletX read below.

 

Blake Krapels, recently joined BalletX, Philadelphia’s contemporary ballet company in the Fall of 2018. He is a 2011 United States Presidential Scholar in the Arts, who trained in New Jersey under the tutelage of Billy Larson and Jamie Salmon. In 2015, Blake graduated from The Juilliard School with a BFA in dance, where he performed repertoire by William Forsythe, Merce Cunningham, Elliot Feld, Jose Limon, and Peter Chu. In addition to his core training at school, Blake participated in Nederlands Dans Theatre’s 2014 & 2016 Summer Intensives as well as Springboard Danse Montreal 2013. Since graduating he has danced for The Metropolitan Opera, Keigwin & Company, GroundWorks Dance Theatre, Emery LeCrone Dance & Konverjdans. Last fall Blake launched Alpha, a dance theater company with two of his Juilliard classmates Michael Marquez and Gemma Bender. They curated their world premiere as a part of Cleveland DanceWorks 2017.
